You change your licence at the earliest run out date as printed on the back of your licence. You have to have a UK address that should be on the front of your licence card and that has to have been your address for at least 3years, if less the form tells you what to do. To get to the form you go onto the internet and in the address bar put in " renew driving licence over 70 " and you will get a list of addresses to link onto, make sure you choose the DVLA.GOV one as others ask you to pay and this is a free service. Make sure you click the link for over 70 in blue I think it is on the top right. Fill in the form and send. The licence will be sent to your address you have used on the card, there is no provision for it to be sent elsewhere for security reasons.
If you have not renewed your licence in the last 10 years you could be in trouble because your licence will be out of date due to your photo being over 10 years old, you will also need to give your passport details as they use the photo on file for this to put a photo on your new licence. Good luck.
