I'm hoping someone can help me.Every morning  I have to clean up droppings on my  solarium and balcony. At first I thought it might be something the birds have left or mice droppings, but after looking more closely they are too big for mice...

Hopefully someone knows what it is..

Regards Sue..

Hi,

Could be rats or tree rats as their poo is a fair bit bigger than mice. I know as had a tree rat in my car engine last week that had pooped in various places. It didn't stand much of a chance with a bunch of cats in the garden!

Hi Catwoman

My first thought was rats but my husband disagreed with me.. Saying it can't be we don't leave any food about or even eat up there, They only go were food is... My reply was the rats don't know we don't eat up there🙂👍😅

Thanks for gettin in touch.

Regards

Sue.

Hi Sue,

I know this is hard for a man to admit but he's wrong!lol!

Rats may very well search for food but they also have to travel for the food and your solarium might be on their regular route,  they may also be nesting nearby which is why you see the poo there regularly. As someone once said "You dirty rat!"

Try a humane trap and see what happens :)
