HELP...our last bull electricity with Iberdrola, was once again extortionate coming in at 177 Euro for a 4 week period!

There are inky two of us and we don’t own a huge house, simply a 3 bedroom Finca with no extraordinary gadgets! We have a swimming pool which isn’t heated and the filtration is timed to come on 2 times daily and a echo pump on a  fish pond.

Could  anyone please tell me how I can reduce the costs, this was more than we were paying in the U.K.!?!

Hi, we also live in a finca and in the summer our bills shoot up to the same as yours , because of having the pool pump on alot. Not necessary in the winter, spring. Only put it on once a week but keep checking ph. Also, I use my washing machine, dishwasher through the night as that is when the electricity is cheapest. Do you use electric heaters/air con for heat as they are expensive to run. You can get the different price tarrifs for different times of the day from Iberdrola. We are now on summer mode. Good luck.

Hello

You need to speak to Iberdrola  at your nearest office, only they, can explain why your bill is so  high and advise what you can do to reduce it.

Cheers

You don't say if you are taking advantage of any of Iberdrola's different tariffs, but my house and electricity requirement sounds broadly similar to yours. We use their '8 hours a day at reduced tariff' plan.

You can choose any 8 hours in the day, we do 0800 to 1200 and 1600 to 2000. The tariff in those 8 hours is about half the standard tariff. We have the pool pump on in those eight hours and try to use the major appliances like dishwasher, washine machine too.

After the recent increase, our monthly bill comes to around 105€ a month.

You can set and change the hours you choose online via your account on their website. If not confident doing that, I'm sure they could help you face to face too. Good luck!

Hello...thank you for your response. no we dont use electric heaters, air-con only gets used to cool the bedrooms down when its really hot. Our heating is oil fired central heating and we have an open fire for the colder months.

I think I should maybe get Ibedrola out to check the metre etc? x

Good afternoon

I was with Iberdrola on their night day tariff but was expensive so I changed supplier.

I used   https://www.sicompare.com   they were very helpful did most of the paperwork two weeks later all changed, bills so much cheaper.

Regards

Geoff

Have you checked that nobody is actually living in the property and using the electricity?
