Hello

I am looking for info regarding fishing around the Dolores area. I have heard that to obtain a licence I have to pass a Spanish language exam. Apart from ordering a beer and a glass of wine thats my Spanish pretty much exhausted. Can anyone confirm this one way or another. Muchas gracias. 2 more words for my extensive vocabulary😃

You do not need to pass any Examination in Spanish or anything else.   There is a fishing shop in San Fulgencio that will obtain your fishing licence for you for a small fee, take your Passport and NIE, Residencia or something similar and they will get it for you, does not take long.

Thanks. You appear knowledgeable on this subject therefore you may be able to answer another related question. Before I buy a licence is there anywhere local to fish. Much appreciated.

Hi, I am not knowledgeable about fishing it is my husband who does the fishing.   There is a place where you can fish locally at a bar/restaurant, you just pay 6Euro and get a drink and fish for free.   On the N332 going from Torrevieja towards Guardamar it is on your left hand side you will see a huge spanish flag, it is called Altos de Lemonar Restaurant.   There is quite a large restaurant with a large lake on the left hand side.   There is another place but that is a long way into the country and difficult to explain.   Good luck,

You might find some information on our sister forum:

I've heard of an area that is privately owned with good fishing adjacent to El Fondo nature reserve, but other than knowing that you go through San Felipe Neri on the far side of Catral, and follow the road, I don't know exactly where it is. Tim's Tackle Shop at San Fulgencio should be able to advise:
