We live in Cala Piteris, just beside Coveta Fuma outside of El Campello. We have Aeromax for laptop, tablet and TV. For our TV we need 25 mbps.  The service is lousy with no apparent support. We need to change. Down to 4 mbps at night instead of the 25 that we pay for which effectively means no watchable TV.

Can anyone tell us of a reliable internet company for this area?

Thanks,

Alex and Maureen.

Personally, if your TV "needs 25 mbps" download speeds, then perhaps consider changing your tv supplier, as that is a very steep minimum speed requirement!!!

Most internet tv suppliers will work for SD on 2-4m and HD 6-8meg....heck, even HD Netflix / Amazon does not need 25meg...

Only 4k / UHD streams need that sort of speeds, for which there are few suppliers of this type anyway...and Netflix / Amazon monitor the speeds and adjust quality accordingly...

And most services quote speeds "of up to"..not "you will get for sure..."..ADSL companies offer speeds of "maximum available" due to line quality and distances from exchanges...

Thanks. It is UHD. Anyway, when the mbpsgoes down to around 6 - 8 at night the stuttering of sound and picture on the feed is extreme and tv becomes irritatingly unwatchable.

There is very limited UHD content available, so not all your TV will be in UHD. (Netflix only approx 600 titles are in UHD, out of their whole library!)

If you are watching UK channels like BBC ITV C4 Five, via "internet tv / streaming", then these will not be in UHD. Barely HD, and 720hd at best. And 8m download should be more than fine for this. So like i said before, perhaps it is a combination of your tv supplier and internet supplier.

Remember, just because you have a 4k / UHD TV does not mean you are getting or watching the content in 4k / UHD!

Content on Amazon and Netflix and Youtube is automatically adjusted in resolution to cater for your connection speeds.

So if you want your UHD content, you need fast fiber (if available in your area) and not a "wifi" solution, that can fail during the peak periods, especially in summer with all the other tourists in the area using the connections, as you have found out.

I now use Aeromax with a small satellite dish - 37€ per month for 25 mbps - good wifi for TV and other internet devices.  However, beside Mercadona on San Bartolimie at the roundabout there is a new broadband cable provider.  You could pop in there to check their coverage and prices.

Alex.
