Hi, we're in the process of getting all the counters transferred into our name to the property we just bought last week... ('service' provided by estate agent for a fee..)  From what we've been told this morning Iberdrola refuses to take any international phone numbers as contact number...

Has anyone else encountered this problem and how did you solve it?  We have bought a holiday home, so will not be permanent residents and I've already got 2 sim cards already for where I live and where I come from...so a third is pretty much impossible to use in a dual-sim card!!

Thanks for any advice.... quite amazing that I'm now singing the praises of the French administration after my 'brief' encounter with the Spanish one!!

Definitely seems strange, but if it's true then just give your estate agent's number.

You can do as i did, got an Hits sim on p.a.y.g. and providing you put on a minimum of 5 euros a year it keeps it live, i never use mine just ensure 5 euros goes on they remind me when it is due, plus it is always there when and if you need it

Thanks, that's what I thought too.. Well the problem is the real estate agent we are using/paying to organise all of this whilst we're not there is the vendors! Given my experience with them, I'm not completely sure it's true....might try and check out when we go back in a few weeks time with the neighbour and see if it's true... Just seems very strange given how many people have holiday-homes in Spain?? Gosh even French banks allow you to use non-French mobile numbers !
