We are planning on spending a few months a year in our holiday home in el campello , any recommendations for doctor dentist for occasional emergencies or illness who are English speaking and accept patients as hoc ?

You could try Clinica Praxis, I have used them as a general GP for me and the kids, you just need to give them a call for an appointment and can ask what the cost will be then. It was never very much for us.
