Hello Alexandra, could you give us a bit more information please such as where you are coming from ( UK? ), when, and if you want your daughter to go to a local Spanish or International school and how well you know the area and Spain in general?
You don't say if you are aware of the income requirements for Residency but if you read through Jim's Guides which are in a tab at the top of the page and then come back if you have any questions.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Im from east London.

I would like my daughter to attend a Spanish school as I think it would be better for her to integrate and make friends.

My cousin has a holiday home in Bonalba and he has family (from his maternal side) in campello.

I have visited the area on several holidays. I love the area and think it would be a better place to bring my daughter up.

I have absolutely no idea on the requirements regarding residencia.

Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Many thanks,

Alexandra

Hi Alexandra,

All Jim's guides are here:

Jim's guides - your complete guide to Spain

but I'd recommend starting with this one:

https://www.costablancaforum.com/area/mudamiento-spain-77813/moving-to-mudamiento-tips-advice-226/jims-guide-what-new-residents-need-to-be-aware-of-80379/

There's also a section on how Brexit will affect living in Spain.  As things currently stand, to apply for residency in Spain (which you need to do if you're planning to live in Spain for more than 90 days), you need to be able to show a Spanish bank account with Eu 750 paid in every month or have Eu 9,000 in savings.  However, from the end of the Brexit transition period on 1 January 2021 and unless special arrangements are made for UK citizens, we will be treated as Third Country citizens and the required income level could rise to around Eu 2,400 per month.

I don't know whether you're hoping to work out here, but if you can get work with a contract, you would be able to gain access to Spanish state healthcare; otherwise, you would need to pay for private health insurance.

Once you've had a chance to read through Jim's guides, let us know if you have any further queries or need clarification on anything you've read.

Kind regards,

Kim
