Hiya looking at buying static caravan at colmar but got young children and it looks like older people live there most. Just like look of el campello on YouTube + close to airport & links to Alicante and benidorm. Any other advice were we could get all that without spending a fortune that haven't got .static only options i think. Any help would be appreciated

Hi, yes the Colmar is generally older people but their families frequently visit.  Also it is quite a way (about 10km ) outside of Campello so schools would be a bit of an issue in terms of ferrying you children there, and you would probably be allocated the one by the station in Campello, which comes with some problems.  Also have you taken into consideration the onsite fees, I am led to believe they are quite expensive in the range of 3,000 euro pa.   Campello is very well served by supermarkets but again about a 10km drive although Mercadona and Carrefour do a delivery service whcih you can check out on their website.  Trains are good into Campello, Alicante and Benidorm but it is about a 15 minute walk to the station and very steep coming back.  The onsite restaurants are excellent and Browns has a very active social scene, the one upstairs is more upscale.  There is a great swimming pool attached to Browns and they do a great Sunday lunch. If there is anything else I can help you with let me know.  Good luck.

Other places to look at would be La Zenia and Playa Flamenca.  These are to the south of Alicante about 50 minutes drive from Alicante or Murcia Airports.  Lots more ex pats than Campello.  La Zenia Boulevard has over 150 shops and a hugeAlCampo supermarket.  Lots of activities on every day and a 10pin bowling alley and games room.  Have a look at the website.  Lots of restaurants around covering all budgets and tastes.  A huge Saturday market.  Have a look at Secreto de la Zenia no 7 on Facebook.  Derek is very helpful.  We are doing 2 long term  rents over the winter.  He has information about other rentals on the estate and in the area.

Hi we've been here a year (in our fifties) in that time there have been 5 couples purchased caravans all younger than us. There are definitely more younger people moving onto the site. Also you can walk to El Campello from Colmar site along the coastline takes about 50 minutes. By car it's 5/10 minutes and taxi from tram to Colmar only costs 8 or 9 euro. We normally walk down to the tram 10/15 minutes and catch bus back which drops us off at the top of the site cost is 1.5 euro. By car to El Campello it's about 4 to 5 kms max. definitely not 10 kms. It's a really good community spirit on site we love it best thing we ever done. We spend a couple of months at a time here then 2 months back in the UK, works well. Hope this helps and good luck
