Hi All!

I wonder if anyone had processed  with a NON EU citizen Residencia ? My husband is British and he just got his easily but for me as not an EU citizen it is quite a        complicated process. If somebody can provide me with any leads will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Why not apply for a residency certificate as a family member of an EU citizen?

This is basically the same EX-18 procedure that your husband went through. Read the section 'Si es familiar de ciudadano de la Unión se deberá aportar', which doesn't exclude non-EU family members, at:

http://extranjeros.mitramiss.gob.es/es/InformacionInteres/InformacionProcedimientos/CiudadanosComunitarios/hoja102/index.html

The introduction at the top of the page clearly includes non-EU family members in this procedure:

Los familiares de ciudadano español o de otro Estado miembro de la Unión Europea, o de otro Estado parte en el Acuerdo sobre el Espacio Económico Europeo o Suiza, que no ostenten la nacionalidad de uno de dichos Estados, cuando se reúnan con él o le acompañen, y vayan a residir en España por un período superior a tres meses, deberán solicitar y obtener una tarjeta de familiar de ciudadano de la Unión.

If you really want to follow the EX-17 route, and have sufficient resources in your own right to do so, then yes, you will have more hoops to jump through. The disadvantage is that it's more complicated, as you say; the advantage is that you end up with a nice plastic card with your picture and thumb-print on it. Details are here:

http://extranjeros.mitramiss.gob.es/es/InformacionInteres/InformacionProcedimientos/Ciudadanosnocomunitarios/hoja010/index.html

If we end up with a hard Brexit, then that's a route that we all may have to travel!

Hi Jim! Thanks for the reply. I will be applying as my husband’s dependant. I am looking for someone to help me to process my application as I don’t speak spanish. I’ve heard it is not as straight forward as applying for residencia for a european citizen.
