Can I apply for a non-resident visa but still continuing to work in the UK.

I'm an IT contractor and I often have more than 3 months between contracts and I'd much rather spend that time in my apartment in Spain than in the UK.

I wouldn't work while in Spain but I'd travel back to the UK to fulfil my next contract task.

This is something that you should discuss with your nearest Spanish Consulate. They are the experts in Spanish immigration matters. If you are a UK Passport holder it is not as easy to live in Spain since the UK left the EU. You will probably be inundated with responses here but they will, in my opinion, not be from experts in immigration matters. The following links may provide you with more information:

Sorry but there is no such thing as a non resident visa.

You can have holiday periods here in Spain but you must stick to the 90 day rule.

Here is a list of visas available for Spain:

Apologies, I meant a non-lucrative visa

If you apply and gain a non-lucrative visa you will then need to apply for Spanish residency within the first month after receipt of the NLV.

To meet the terms of the NLV you will need to live in Spain at least 183 day of the year which will automatically put you into the Spanish tax system. You will also be limited to the amount of time you can spend outside Spain for the first 5 years.

Here is some information:

This might be of interest to you

Been a lot about this in the political news lately, and even though it is not completed yet,  from what you write, it may be worth looking in to.
