Hello, we are looking to move in or around the area and would like to know what your experience of moving was like, any advice and in particular any knowledge on the local schools (primary and secondary).  I would really appreciate any helpful advice as to whether we should rent first.  Many thanks!  Andrea

Hi there, firstly good luck with the move! We initially bought in La Sella which was fine for a holiday home. However once here permanently we became quickly tired of every visit anywhere starting with turning the keys of the car. Eventually we decided to move into Dénia itself and now have a lovely home on the (lower) Montgo, close enough to walk easily to the town, marina etc, and, there are some excellent schools nearby, not least Colegio Paidos!

If we can help further, please don't hesitate to message!

Hi :) oh thank you so much for taking the time to reply. We are treading the same path as you and you may recall how confusing everything is at this very early stage.  I would certainly welcome any advice from you.  Are the packages where they help you set your bank account and NIE number the best route?  We are coming over to view a couple of properties mid October so things are definitely moving forward.  We were initially looking at Almeria but I began to worry there may not be enough to do ....and I would miss shopping in Mango .  I recalled a programme where I saw Mount Montgo and the Orba Valley and I just thought the scenery was absolutely stunning.  So this prompted a re-think and I started to focus our search around Denia and it just seems to suit us.

You really don't need any help to obtain the NIE or open a bank account, they are both quite straightforward.

You really need to focus on where you want to live.

Will you need work? If so, then that will be your first problem. Unless you have a firm offer of employment with a contract then you might well struggle!
