Hi, we too are non residents and have a Securitas Alarm system. We,ve had it 15yrs after a complete ransacking in 2007. Originally they could only inform a keyholder to attend who then had to call the police but now they will call the police direct and keyholder. If you have a keyholder their number would be used to inform in case of alarm activation. If you don't have a keyholder I suggest you either get one usually local estate agents offer that service or maybe you have a friendly neighbour. Our house is in the Campo with nearest neighbour approx 500mts away. I would be extremely worried if we didn't have the protection of our alarm system. It's not cheap but worth it for peace of mind.
Regards
Pauline

I use ‘YI’ cameras. You get them from Amazon at about £50 each (£35 ever so often in the sale)‘Blink’ are an alternative. For both of these you need to have Wi-Fi connected to your holiday home all the time. They connect to your smart phone and you can watch 24hrs a day. You get an alarm on you phone if someone or thing enters a zone that you can set up on the camera. Easy to set up. I have 2 neighbors who I can call on if I see something suspicious, I don’t have neighbors you can call then this probably isn’t for you.
Hope this helps.
If you have a permanent Wifi connection these are pretty good. They all work from a single app and also work with alexa & google home.

For controlling lights, radio, etc while from UK ......https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-Tapo-Wireless-Control-Required/dp/B07Z942YWS?tag=cstareg-21
You can also get them on amazon.es if you don't want UK plugs and don't to cart them over.
i would also recommend the Alertcops app to contact the Spanish police.

I completely agree. I am also well out of town and rely on my Securitas system. They call the police and set up security till the house can be re-secured. If you can get a local trustworthy key holder that is the best option and they will be called out as well.
The system also takes pictures of the offenders which may help to identify them. You can access you own security portal on their website and you communicate with them in your own language.
It's a very good system. Highly recommended.
