Fly tipping
I am constantly seeing fly tipping at bins in and around Hondon. How can I go about reporting this.

It is common practice to put 'stuff' next to the bins. Unbaggable stuff. Mattresses, rubble, garden waste, more mattresses etc. The Town Hall will clear it. Often, a hideous, windswept site but it does get cleared.

Fly tipping is very common but illegal and carries a heavy fine if caught. If you have photographic evidence of fly tipping you can send it to the police or council who will prosecute. Many people fly tip because they think that is how you dispose of rubbish, so it is often better to try and educate. Builders and gardeners (businesses) will know it is illegal so asking them to stop doing it is a waste of time and reporting them is the only option.
You can legally leave large household rubbish and 1 cubic metre of garden waste by the bins for free council collection ONLY if you have contacted them first. They will inform you which day and where to leave it near your property. The larger collection lorries can't drive down all streets so they have particular collection points.
Once items collect around bins it attracts more fly tippers (usually illegal) because some will think that's what you do with rubbish; others because they see they can get away with it!
