Hi , is it possible to get to travel to jacarilla by bus to the airport? Is there also a regular bus service to the beach , or neighbouring towns ? I'm thinking of buying a property here but don't want to be totally reliant on a car as it it will be a holiday home.

I'm afraid, w/o your own vehicle you'll be lost in the middle of nowhere. Bus Sigüenza runs a service to the surroundings but I doubt this will meet your needs. https://www.bus-siguenza.com/index.php?page=urbano

According to this you would have to get to Bigastro.

The airport bus goes direct to Torrevieja and the main routes are north and south along the coast from Torrevieja and inland to La Siesta, Habaneras areas. Outside of these I really wouldn't like to be without a car.

If you are looking to have a holiday home here it may be an idea to map out the bus routes and then look for property around these.

Without a car grocery shopping will be difficult not impossible but I would not like to rely on the bus service when doing my shopping. One thing I have noticed hardly any of the stops have a shelter I certainly would not like to wait in the blistering heat or rain for a bus with bags of shopping.

Hi

Away from the coast, even if only a few Kms, buses are few and far between! Most buses run up and down the n332 (the main coastal road).

Torrevieja is unusual in that it has a very good local bus service - see here http://costazul.net/lineas-urbanas/

Cheers

Steve
