I have an empty flat in Spain - If Spain offers a scheme I will let a family there rent free. There are MANY empty holiday apartments and villas there and I would have no issues with this type of help.
UK is sitting on shale gas, which given the current situation should be being extracted, I'm aware of the pros and cons but these are exceptional times.
