I have just purchased an Avensis mobilis bus pass. I have used it daily travelling between La Mata and Torreviega but no matter where I get on or in which direction I’m travelling the bus ticket always shows the destination as Hotel Fontana and the fare is just €0.60. Yesterday I specifically said La Mata to the driver - I think the standard fare is about €1.50- but was still just given a €0.60 ticket destination Hotel Fontana.  I’m guessing Hotel Fontana is the starting/ final destination for the circular bus routes but did my 60c ticket cover me beyond to La Mata? Or should I buy a second ticket ?  I don’t see anyone else hopping off the bus at Hotel Fontana to buy an other ticket?

Bus fares in most regions have been reduced for some time because of the cost of living crisis, providing you are paying by a bus company card. Cash paying customers contunue to pay full price.

Thank you I didn’t realise - wish I’d bought one before!

You do not need to specify a destination. The cost of the trip (cash customer €1.55) card customer is 60 cents no matter if you go 1 stop or all the way. Both bus routes from La Mata, A and A2 start and finish at Hotel Fontana.

You can buy this Tarjeta Bus from the driver or at the bus station. It costs €2 for the card and €20 for initial credit and can be topped up by €10 or €20 as required. The bus fare with the card is 60cent as opposed to €1.55 without per person and doesn't matter how many stops. Also can be used on airport bus for €3.15 instead of €7

Yes you just tap it for each person travelling and take a paper ticket for each person ( ticket shows remaining balance on card). .  Can’t be topped up online.  Just hand the driver  cash with the card and he will top it up.

No just top-up with the driver on bus or at the station office, just present card and either €10 or €20 and just say recharge por favour. I believe that i read somewhere that the max number of taps was for 6 people, not certain, but just buy 2 cards
