We are always taking suggestions from our members and trying new features. Both the unhelpful and awards button are new additions we are testing to see how they work and if members like them. 

The unhelpful button was added because we felt that members sometimes weren't reporting unhelpful posts to us and getting fed up, whereas an unhelpful button may be used more than a report button. The admin team will be alerted to posts with lots of unhelpful votes, and can take action if needed - whereas before these might have been missed if not reported.

The awards feature is for posts where you feel that a member has really helped you, and you can only give out 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze per day. It is just another way of saying thank you really, and if members aren't too keen on it then we will take that on board and make changes if needed.

If members have any further suggestions for new features we are always happy to try them out.

The awards are a bit like Stars on the forehead in school but the Unhelpful button is a good idea

Just a suggestion for Admin. Rather than 'unhelpful' button, how about simple Like 👍and Dislike buttons. I would often like to say that I enjoyed a post, particularly if it is comical. Not all posts are intended to be helpful, just entertaining, and they brighten up the day. Perhaps you will give the idea some thought, and thanks for a well run forum.

I agree with the points raised, some responses are just funny.

Admin - Maybe worth a poll? Perhaps with a LIKE / DISLIKE button against each proposition?!

I think we're very lucky on this forum; although I've only met one member in person, they still feel like friends.  With some of the regulars, I can even sense mood changes by the way some people respond on a given day - and I'm sure others can tell when I've been eating too much red meat!  🤬 😄

We have had the odd keyboard warrior, but they don't last long when they realise that the majority of members don't have a problem with differing opinions, so long as they're conveyed without abuse.

Some people like the Unhelpful button, but the Awards seem less popular.  It will be interesting to see how it goes.
