What is the best way to transport cats to Spain, I have three cats I will be taking with me, and wonder if it is feasible to travel with them in the back of my big car....in their cat containers.....any advice please on transporting my cats to Valencia region please?

We drive with 2 in back of car.  Bought garden storage box and fitted bits of wood in bottom to secure litter tray one end and food other.  They were fine.  I made holes in in for plenty of air.  Not sure feasible with 3 in one box?

Ps made he in side so litter tray slid out

without opening box so as not to run risk of them escaping.  I sprayed some feliway as well!!!

Good luck 😎

Thanks so much for replies..always so helpful to hear how other people have done things re pets.   I found two of my cats in France, and brought them back to the UK a few years ago, in their cat boxes, to live in England, but bringing them across the channel from the Normandy region was not such a huge distance as getting them across to Spain and onwards to Valencia ...which is why I am trying to work out the best way to do it.   They also both have French passports which hopefully I can use to get them into Spain with no problems, and of course will get all their necessary jabs etc., done before we leave.

We used a professional firm,  animamlcouriers.com for our two cats. They arranged for and delivered them to a local cattery with whom they have a working relationship, to await final completion of our house purchase as we had nowhere at that point to bring them. They were efficient and reasonable and the cats were safe, cared for and it was one less problem for us.

We took our 2 cats in a big dog bench. They  have slept from netherlands t france and from france to spain. After arriving they where excited to get to know the new home. After a few weeks I took their passports to the vet for checking if they had enough injections. They told me that in Spain they inject them against leukemia...we didn’t do that. Now 3 months later they are as happy as we are in our new home.

Thanks for replies, they are much appreciated, I think I will do as advised and get a large dog cage which will fit in the back of my estate car, and arrange it so my cats can cope for the time it takes to do the journey.   Hopefully they will nod off, and be comfortable enough.   :-)
