Hope some one can help, Recently bought a small holiday home in La Siesta,im getting a small pension from a previous employer, banko Sabadell says if I transfer it to my spanish account I wont pay the 30euros l currently pay every three months ,I pay tax on this in UK will I pay any more in Spain.TIA

Your pension needs to be at least 700e per mth. If you pay this into your BS account they will waive the fees

271935 thanks for your reply but was told in the bank last week salery must be over 700euro but pension can be any amount.My question is can it be taxed twice in UK & again in Spain.

As you refer to it as a holiday home, I assume you're going to be a non-resident: i.e. living here less than 183 days a year.

If that's the case, you won't be taxed in Spain on your income, irrespective of whichever bank it's paid into. The only tax you'll pay here will be the annual non-resident tax based on the land registry value of your property.

You may have misunderstood, Tricia. I was just referring to the tax situation. The bank will still charge you for running a non-resident account.

I suggest you ask the bank if their fees would be any less if you provided them with the certificate of non-residence, rather than letting the bank get that for you.

See what you mean Jim maybe the girl in the La Siesta branch has taken it for granted we were residents when I enquired about the 30euro fee we pay every three months.I will e-mail them.Thanks again T
