I'm considering an apartment within my budget in la siesta, but because it's not a walking distance to the city, I'm a bit hesitant as I don't drive. How's the transport service from la siesta to torrevieja? I know there's bus service, but does it go all year round or only peak season? Also what's the possibility you f renting apartment when I'm not using it? Is it somewhat popular for holiday makers or locals? About how much would a taxi cost from la siesta to torrevieja city?

Thanks

Cheryl

Davebev1's guides: Renting out your property as a holiday let in SpainI can't help with the buses but this is an excellent guide about rentals. Other posters have stated that it is taking over a year to get the licence.

The bus runs the whole year every 40 minutes, saturday and sunday every 60 minutes. It takes about 30-40 minutes to drive to the city by bus. The taxi costs about 15€. In summer I drive sometimes to the city with my bicycle, but it is a little bit dangerous because you have to use the street.

Hi - there is a regular bus service all year round, run about every thirty to forty minutes.   Timetables on the bus stop, take a picture with your mobile phone and then you will always have it with you.   It will take you on a round-robin trip and you can get off in Torrevieja or stay on until you return to where you got on.   Good idea to do that when you first get out here so that you can see where things are.   Not expensive, about 75 cents I think but if you are Resident in Torrevieja and are on the Padron then you can get a free bus pass no matter what your age is.   You do not need a car to live in San Luis, La Siesta or El Chaparral, all serviced by bus, two different bus lines though so watch out for that.

Hi again, it is a Residential area so lots of people live here all year around and there are also holiday makers.  Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops in all three areas so lots to do.   Good luck,

Are there really two buslines? I know only the line „G“... Without being a resident it costs 1,35 €. I agree, you don‘t need a car in this area. I am always here just with bus and bicycle.

Hi, I live in El Chaparral and there is a bus line there that does not go to San Luis but does go to La Siesta, there is also a bus line that goes to San Luis.   I think our line is also the G line, you may be OK on the G line and the other line [not sure of the number sorry] for where you live in La Siesta - but we, in El Chaparral, would not be OK with the other bus.
