On the water meter in the street outside our house, it has 2 taps/valves on, but it would appear that neither of them stops the water in the house completely, as was trying to change some taps in the house and couldn't get the water off, I would think they need to be replaced, but who's responsibility is it. I have spoken to  Agamed, but they say its mine, if it is mine not a major issue but where can i get a new contraol tap/valve?

thanks

The safest thing to do is to lay a ruler near the stop cock, take a photograph with your mobile, then ask as at any plumbers merchant - fontaneria.

Go back to Aguamed and explain forcefully:- If it is in the street, and before the meter, then it is their responsibility because they have to turn off the main stop valve in order for the tap to be changed....

Richard is right. If it's before the meter is the Authorities problem, if it's after it's yours. The same applies to the electricity supply.

My water meter is 800m away from the house and I have just had to replace all that pipe. Ouch!!!
