Hi I have been looking at "Hot Tubs" for sale can anyone advise on the inflatable style, ie are these a good buy and cheap to run. Also, is the weight of the water a concern if the hot tub is positioned on a roof top solarium on the second floor of apartments.

BY THE WAY LE ROY MERLINS HAVE 15% OFF ALL STOCK ON 26 APRIL 2018!!!!!!

Hi, we looked at this and eventually opted for the following one from Alices Garden.es

https://www.alicesgarden.es/product/spas-y-jacuzzis-hinchable-para-exterior-4-plazas-185cm-ottawa

Its smaller than the Lay-z-spa models but suits our needs.

This fits three adults comfortably /four a bit more snug but still ok. We opted for this as capacity is 750 litres.

therefor less to fill and heat.

The delivery from Alices Garden was quick - within three days and courier will ring a spanish mobile ( not UK mobile though) to give time of delivery.

Not too clear on running costs yet as we have only used it a month so far.

From what I can see its adding about 10 euro a week to heat to 36-37 degrees but dont take this as gospel.

We thought about putting of a roof solarium but like you were concerned about weight. 750 litres of water plus another

couple of hundred kilos of bodies puts the weight at well over a tonne.

The load SHOULD be ok but I would hate to be proved wrong on this.

Also having it in direct sunlight and extreme 40 degree + heat shortens the life of the inflatable

liner( think what it does to car paint).

At the moment we have it set up in the garage/underbuild until we assess the roof loading.

We have it set up on foam pool mats with a couple of silver car windsreen reflectors underneath.

It keeps the heat pretty well and drops about 4-5 degrees overnight and heats up at about 2 degrees an hour.

Hope this info is of use

regards

Ian
