Ibredolla have started taking the bill monthly instead of two monthly, however, our bills seem high (even using 1kw when the place is locked up and electric supply off!)

Is anyone else experiencing this, my bills seem to have gone from around 50€  every two months to around 90€ every two months!

Advice please as I don't fully understand the breakdown ( not understanding Spanish)

Is it time to change?

Thanks

Steve

Your on a ridiculously high tariff 5.75kw. The tariff for a standard property is 3.5kw that's what I am on in a 3 broom house and my bills with the property empty are around 21e per month.

No need to change providet just go into their office and get your tariff reduced that will save you about 15e per month.

You will always use a tiny bit of electricity when your switched off at your fuse box as the meter needs some juice to run

I thought so, thanks for the advice, I will certainly try that (although I'm not over now until June.  are you with iberdrola? I have heard they may be in difficulty and to try another company.

Definitely on too high a tariff, we are on 3.45 Is for a two bedroom apartment and our monthly bills are averaging around 26 euros. Registering online to use Iberdrola's Virtual Office would enable you to monitor your charges while in the U.K. and to query your tariff.

Hi as John says register for Ibedrola's online account. You can do almost anything with them online. I've had the online account for many years and I get an email each month advising me my bill is ready to view and it always gives you the date you will be debited,so funds can be sent out to Spanish bank account if need be. I've even changed my contract online and requested my bills to be sent in English ( for the benefit of my other half!) I find them extremely helpful with any queries I've raised with them. By the way I'm on 3.3kw and my bills when I'm not there vary depending on how many days in the charging period But largest I've had (when not there) for 32 days is €15.44. Since we went on the smart meters there seems to be no set amount of days in the 'monthly' charging period.

Hi

I am also on 5.75kw, have a 2 bedroom apartment in Montemar that we have just bought in November last year.

Di you think I should reduce my tariff as I will be using the apartment about 4 to 5 months of the year which includes about 1 month during cold period?

Definitely I have a 3 bed house and do two winter visits a year. There are 3 of us. Very occasionally it trips out. But 3.5kw is more than enough unless you are a large family in a big property
