Travel insurance necessary

Do I need travel insurance to visit my holiday home several times a year.
I have the blue NHS card
Suggestions please......what do you do?

The EHIC will only cover you for emergency medical treatment.
It all depends what risks you want to cover and what you're willing to not cover.
Looking at it the other way round, when either of us visits the UK, we just take the EHIC and hope that nothing untoward happens.
I'd suggest you check your house and contents insurance policy, as if you've got all-risks insurance, then that might cover you. But if so check if there's a restriction on how many weeks away from home it covers.
Other than that, look at getting an annual travel insurance policy. The cost will depend very much on your age.
