Under the current restrictions for 2nd home owners returning to Spain .My car is in airport parking , the MOT expires very shortly in April .So probably by the time we return it will be not be legal on the road.I e-mailed the garage we take it to as its still under warranty and has to be done by them. They said when we can go over to Spain they will  book us an MOT straightaway so if the police stopped us we would have this to show them..So my question is would i be able to travel to Spain now as a 2nd home owner needing this requirement .? Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give me..

Hi Jd77,

Spain's travel update on Wednesday this week suggests an ITV test would not be a legitimate reason to obtain entry to Spain:

"📢📢Spains Health Minister has said today that they are going to ease the ban on travel from Britain, three months after suspending flights for all but Spanish nationals and residents over concerns about a more contagious variant of the coronavirus first detected in the UK.

"Armed with negative PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test results, British travellers will be allowed in Spain from March 30, the Health Ministry said, *but only for imperative health, work or education reasons*. NOT FOR TOURISM.

"The remaining restrictions mean Spain does not expect an immediate revival of tourism from Britain, hindered in any case by the United Kingdom's own ban on all foreign travel except for work, education or health reasons."

Kind regards,

Kim

We were in the same situation last May when our car needed a service and ITV. We use Plane Parking for our airport parking so we contacted them and they took the car for both the above on our behalf for a small fee. It gave us peace of mind that when we are next able to come over to Spain our car is all legal and we won’t be stressing about being pulled over by the police and risking a fine. I suggest you speak to your parking company to see if they can take the car for you. I can’t recommend Plane parking enough, they offer  an excellent service and are very reliable.
