Hello. I am moving over at the end of January and wonder what is the cheapest way to phone the UK from Spain. I have found a company called 1p mobile, who charge just 1p per minute to call UK numbers from Spain, Sounds to good to be true. Anyone else heard of them ?
I am with Lebara, 10€ a month, 400 minutes per month of national and international calls, no bundles in Spain include texts, no data, you pay more for data, so I simply use the internet at home or free wifi when out to access WhatsApp.

I am with 1p mobile and I have had no problems you can check your statement on line I have used the phone for calling both English & Spanish numbers and only been charged 1p/minute I have used data & text, been here more than 3 months can’t fault them

I just found this on 1p website and may be of interest as they say if roaming outweighs usage at home then they will charge.

We use InternetCalls, also called VoipStunt. It has to be topped up every six months for twelve euros and some cents. Calls to the UK and most other countries cost six cents for the connection, after which the call is free, irrespective of the duration.

Hello. You are right. I just called them. They said I had to be based in the uk and only allowed occasional roaming for holiday use. The website is very misleading.

If you have wifi access then call people on whatsapp - you both have to have a whatsapp app on the phone but there would be no charge to either of you as you are using your own internet connection. You can video call that way too.
