Hello

After recently arriving I Los Montesinos I was left with a collection note from the Correos office to collect a parcel at the local office.

It stated the office hours were 12.30 until 2pm. I arrived early to be second in the line, the person who arrived after me was quick to point out, that if I was in a hurry come back again , as the post mistress never arrives on time, she is always late by 10 to 20 minutes . He also advised me that if at ten minutes to  two she would come out of the office and cut the line, telling people she would only serve these people up to two pm and the rest of you must come back tomorrow. She of course arrived twenty minutes late, no apology was offered to the long line of people waiting. On putting my collection note over to her she was very short and dismissive to the point of being rude.

I think it’s time this injustice was put to rights by the senior management of the correos office.  You need to replace her with someone who cares about people and their job.

My thought to this lady is this, I thing you need a complete training package from your head office on work hours and how to approach customers and I would say you should not be left unsupervised at this type of collection point, where you think you make the rules.

We can only hope they listen and have very strong words with her on time keeping and saying a smile costs nothing, never forget this is where we make the profits.

Hello,

Haha Welcome to Spain

. I've been here 17years & used to say that being difficult, rude & unfriendly must be a requirement for a job at the Correos as every member of staff for many years  at my local office, seem to have those traits. Currently they are not too bad .... I also  have a very  friendly, helpful  delivery postman who goes out of his way to deliver my goods so---swings & roundabouts.

Don't build your hopes up tho ......

Cheers

Spain has the highest school drop out rate in Europe ( source El Pais) seems they all end up working for Correos, well I use the word working loosely, Correos is where they go to get paid. Don't think the Spanish know what a full days work is or the concept of customer service, I don't use Correos to send any parcels, letters or cards I use the Post Shop in Villamartin, someone who welcomes customers not treats them like something they have scrapped off their shoes.

I think the staff at Correos are beyond difficult and rude they are downright ignorant.

That is what we left in Barcelona, really nice people at the office and a great delivery person. It came as a bit of a shock, I'll be more than ready for her on my next visit lol

Could be worse, if the Playa Flamenca branch was you local one. It was recently in the local paper citing even worse service.

So if I have this right your saying that because there are a lot of Brits here they have to put up with this type of service, the people in line on the day, were French, German, Spanish and Brits all not happy, but we brits suck it up .

Not going to happen .
