I never knew such morons existed until I found this on Youtube.

I think the 3-pin plug guy (no. 7 caller) wins the prize ....... for idiocy.

Thanks , I listened

A while back, there was a push by European Manufacturets of Electrical accessories to force the UK to convert to a European Standardised plug , based mainly on the existing Schuko 'euro' plug .

Two reasons were given. The first being the claimed danger from the UK 13 amp plug of injuring people if inadvertantly trodden on due to the fact its pins often face upwards when a plug is laying on the floor .

The second reason was restrictions of trade claimed by other EU Electrical accessory  Manufacturers stating they could not sell their product to the UK market.

This was all eventually kicked into touch and the 13 amp UK won the day in the UK .

On the point mentioned in the Vid ,referring to 3 pin plugs , Europe does have a 3 pin plug system ,however the 'third' pin is,in fact a double contact section contained within the outer body of the ( Schuko) plug.

On a final note, I must say the Presenter of that radio show is a very pompous Prat !

The presenter is very well informed. He asks the caller "so you voted for Brexit because you want to use 3-pin plug which you already have ?" . In other words whether you vote for or against Brexit, you can still use 3-pin plug.

You really need to listen to the other 9 callers.

I personally blame the Danish.I stood on more kid´s lego blocks injuring adult´s feet), than most people have ever stood on electrical plugs.

(I believe)
