Help with pests!

We bought in Moraira earlier this year and have been out several times but noticed in both July and September the mosquitoes were really bad - this was also mentioned by family members who visited in August. We've stayed in previous years but not had this much of an issue - is this something others have noticed too? We do have a lot of bougainvillea plus lemon and orange trees and a couple of palms but don't think they would attract the mozzies ?? Does anyone have any potions creams or just suggestions that might help? We have the plug ins and the roll on repellant but not much use. We also tended to get bitten a lot in the day time too. Any hints and tips would be really appreciated.

I think Nicola means this one - see pic. Use 3 times daily. It won't eradicate all bites but will reduce them a lot.

You're welcome Nula. Bear in mind it's only available at Mercadona. It might be low on stock as summer demand is easing. It's strong, smells pleasant and best of all it works. Dont use it on your face though.

In Moraira there is a company called Fog Off who will come and spray your garden which kills the mossies for about 28 days , you can look them up on the web , they have a very good reputation

May be a bit late on this one but we've had a place in Moraira for 4 years now and this is the only year we have been bitten, when we were out in September (not bothered all the other months though) So I wouldn't go to the expense of doing anything to your property (sometimes I've seen ugly mesh type contraptions attached to windows) just yet, see what next year brings. :)
