Hi…has anybody have any experience with Artens vinyl  floor slats from Leroy Merlin. Was thinking about covering my dated floor tiles with some. They would have light use 3 or months a year. They stick straight on the surface I believe tia

The floor needs to be level otherwise they will eventually start to show the shape of the floor tiles giving a bumpy finish, laminate and u/lay might be a better option.

In my experience anything involving glue doesn’t work well here . I. Not sure if it’s the heat or humidity or a combination of both, so I’d make sure you use an industrial strength glue with them.

I used  sticky back floor tiles on outside table tops, which looked fabulous for a  whole week until the glue started to melt and the colour changed with the effects of the sun. I admit that was using tiles outside, but it does get fairly hot and humid inside.  Strangely though stuff like DC Fix vinyl sticks quite well.

Did you mean Artens rather than Artemis? If so, then I can recommend them as we have put these vinyl planks throughout our house. The existing tiles were not only hideous but were also very cold in Winter so we needed to cover them.

We didn't want to alter all the internal doors and change the main entrance door so we opted for vinyl planks rather than laminate and underlay.

With the exception of 2 planks, which have warped slightly, they are all still securely adhered to the tiled floor, despite the heat and humidity.

The 2 planks that have warped are on a particularly uneven part of the floor so the comment above is spot on.

Apart from that, it is a very attractive and hard wearing floor covering. They are also very easy to lay, I am a DIY disaster area but even I managed to install them myself.

Do you think you could post a photo of the job. I’m sick of my tiles too and would really love a simple solution. I’m really beginning to think this could be my answer!!

Thanks.

Will do Grannyrose.

We are in the UK for a few days but I'll send that Iver to you as soon as we get back. It has certainly made a change not to have a really cold floor for us this Winter, and it looks attractive.

Hi Grannyrose

Attached is a photo of the flooring in part of our lounge. It has made a tremendous difference this Winter as we haven't been walking on cold tile floors. Far more attractive than the tiles as well.
