Hi Guys,
Has anyone applied for a NON lucrative VISA. Does it last indefinately or is it only a yearly thing that needs renewing. Does anyone know what fees are involved and would all of my family members need one each?
Many thanks
Gary

You might find this discussion useful. If you search 'lucrative' it is widely discussed.
Hello Gary
If granted by the Spanish Embassy, a NLV is for 1 year, then renewable for 2 yrs, years & then again for 2yrs more when it stops being a temporary Visa & becomes permanent. Every member of your family who is joining you to live here will have to apply independently . There are many types of Visas but Non Lucrative is £516

Hi,
Thanks so much. So is £516 per year per applicant or is it £516 and thats it?
Cheers
Gary
Hello Gary,
I havent seen it stated whether there is a charge for renewing the Visa, that's a question for the Spanish embassy - unless anyone else knows.
Do you know the current financial requirements you must meet to be granted a visa? Here are the latest I can find...... Ist applicant €27,115,20,....... Couple €33,894.08, Dependants .....€6778.88. If anyone knows any updates to this, then I hope they will post them.
You would all need at least 1 full year comprehensive P.H. I which appears to be around €1,500 + per person ( depending on quotes you should obtain)
Hope this helps
Cheers

Hi Gary,
A Non-Lucrative VISA must be applied for at the Spanish Embassy in the UK. It lasts 3 months and 15 days, although once granted you need to apply for a Non-Lucrative PERMIT within 1 month of arriving in Spain.
As Spain currently doesn't allow non-residents to enter Spain, it wouldn't make sense to apply for the visa until you know that you can enter Spain.
The first permit lasts one year and the first renewal lasts 2 years. You need to make 2 renewals in order to achieve 5 years' permanent residency in Spain.
Kind regards,
Kim

Hi Gaz,
No, I'm fortunate enough to have been living permanently in Spain for 5 years 😀
We do now have a few members who have started the NLV process, so if you decide to go that route, there are members already sharing their experiences which may be helpful to you.
Kind regards,
Kim
