I've spent a lot of time in Moraira over the last 6-7 years. I like pretty much everything about the town. The only issue we ever have is getting a taxi back home after dinner. The queue is town is usually a long wait. And if you call, the phone just rings out. Obviously the issue is worse in summer. In most cases you end up walking home.

Out of interest does anyone know why taxis are so limited? I was told a few years ago the local authority only issues 10 licenses at any one time - and not sure if that's true? I expect with all the experience on this forum, someone would know.

Thanks in advance

Alan

Hi Alan, the issue might be that Moraira gets extremely high demand for late night taxis in July and August and very much lower demand in the winter, making it uneconomic to run a taxi all year round. (As you'll know there's a lot of outlying property outwith walking distance)

One option might be to pre book your taxi to pick you up, if that's possible. Also, a bit of a long shot, try to get to know your driver, tip him well and ask for his name on a card, hopefully on that basis he might volunteer to pick you up from location x based on a prearranged time when you ring in for your booking.

Hello

When I googled recently I found there are more than one taxi company that cover the Moraira/Teulada area .....Have a look &. make a note of some different numbers to try

Cheers
