I'm 60 in two weeks time, I lived near Pau Pi beach. A cab is about 8 euros. I'm now in Palmera. Depends what you want, I don't drive so wanted to rent near public transport. I miss it and it's one of only a couple of areas in Oliva I'd live in.

Thank you. It is something I can bear in mind when I go on a viewing spree.

I need somewhere that is not crowded or noisy most of the time so am looking for somewhere in a residential area rather than in a primarily holiday complex although I appreciate that July and August will be busy anywhere along the Costa Blanca.

In a few days' time, I will be 71. Some of my friends think I am crazy, others are encouraging. Yes, I am nervous; yes I am excited.

When I next go to Spain I am thinking of booking on the Beniconnect bus from Alicante airport, which I understand will deposit me in Denia, where I an get on a bus??? or a taxi. One kind member has offered to give me a taxi number. Did you do similarly? Sorry if I appear to be nosey.

Regards

Linda

I lived a few streets back from the beach in a residential rather than tourist area,.although most tourists are Spanish. I fly to Valencia so can't advise on Alicante. There is a bus to.Oliva, about 40'mins from Denia but I think about three hours from Alicante. I personally wouldn't live in town but that's because I prefer peace and quiet but everyone is different. I rented for a year first and strongly advise anyone to rather than make an expensive mistake.

Oliva is a working town not a beach resort.

Yes, it would certainly be good to rent somewhere for a year, but I might have to compromise on that length of time due to rental coming off the bottom line for my capital for purchasing a property and I have a dog. A friend of mine will look after it for a few weeks. Perhaps I will find somewhere where dogs are allowed.

Like you, I I am really after peace and quiet and have selected Oliva for the fact that it is a working town.

Thanks a lot for all the useful information.

Linda

Hi Linda I’ve used Olivacasas in Oliva and they have been very helpful.
