Local Spanish Teacher for UK visitor

Hi, 

I don't live near Oliva, however whilst you are looking for a teacher I recommend:

If you have radio or tv on for background in your home, have it in Spanish.

Get on to Duolingo and do some of it 20 mins. every day. Have a friend who after doing Duolingo every day speaks really good Spanish.

Don't be afraid to use your basic Spanish at every available opportunity in shops and bars, etc.

If you watch films watch in Spanish or with Spanish subtitles.

Greet your Spanish neighbours in their language.

I am pretty fluent in everyday general conversation but I lack confidence in real situations and like many people- I can speak fluently but lack experience with responses and general every day neighbourly greetings 

I will look at the website you suggest but for anyone else who is reading this …. They can also consider “ lingerie” which is quite similar  - they have Netflix and iplayer type programmes as well as music with subtitles, a sidebar to click words and meanings. It is interactive and so the any words or language unknown to the user are   included in quizzes specifically to your needs 

I think for me - the hurdles are usually stumbling blocks in real life situations and whilst I have the ability to speak with quite substantial vocabulary, I stumble when a local person replies at the speed - often missing much of the intentions 

great idea talking with neighbours - I will definitely take your suggestions on board

I recommend Duolingo because there are no distractions, 20 minutes daily works wonders.

Mark, everyone lacks confidence at the start, you just have to go ahead and push through it.

The useful phrase "más despacio, por favor" will do the trick.
