Can I.(with permission?) Just offer my opinion? I´m; After many years getting used to putting my bread on the table (rather than a side plate). My mother would have given me a scutch (not politoco correcto ahora?) but I learned… (that was UK years ago!)
Always, I was taught to say please & thank you….. (no problem there?)
e.g.: (“would you be so kind as to pass the salt, please?)
Here, en España) …… Sal? (& continue with eating & conversation.)
So many times, I have heard the locals comment that we (that´s UK immigrants say “please & thank you” far too much. (a habit I still have). Opening doors for the members of the opposite (or same sex), elderly, etc.
It took, (years ago), some adjusting when entering a shop, or indeed a lift, that people actually recognise your existence. & say “Buenos dias”.
As regards this forum, yes it would be nice to have a “thumbs up”, but we do not post for that.
We help because it might be helpful or appreciated. (may be not).
I too have posted information, with the intention of helping, only to have a recepricoal question e.g.: “why did you ask this?” (Only this week, someone asking about a pool!)
Manners are important.
All the best all.
Villas.
