Hello Martin hope you are well.

I believe the outrageous sun tax has now been abandoned on domestic solar panel use.

Have a good day.

Hi Mart,

Interesting article on the legislation surrounding this:

https://www.greentechmedia.com/articles/read/spain-abolishes-the-tax-on-the-sun#gs.028lk1

My neighbours have a solar panel for their water heating and believe they'll recover the cost of installation in about 3 to 5 years.  Given the current cost of electricity, it may well be closer to the 3 year point!

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi we have solar panels, had them about 12 years now. They only heat our water, so on the the very rare days that we have no sun, we switch in our Emerson for about an hour which gives us the hot water we need for the day. As I said we have had them 12 years. Two fairly large panels and a 260Ltr water tank, was just a fraction under 2000€. My Husband does go up on our terrace and wash the glass off every now and then, just to get the most from the sun 😎Hope this helps
