My commiserations. You're definitely better off taking an interpreter with you.

If you want to try without, you could do the denuncia online and then go along and sign it - that would give you time to get the wording correct.

I had my manbag stolen from my car in ondarra.had literally everything in it my wallet, passport, phone, glasses, I was just left with the clothes I was stood up in.makes you feel very vulnerable and helpless. The police had no interest whatsoever. Thankfully a very kind guy loaned me 100 euros and his phone for me to phone my family in the UK to cancel my credit cards. Then he drove me to the British embassy in Alicante to get a temporary password to get home. They wasn't much more help as they made me phone my family again in the UK to pay 120 euros before they would issue a new passport. On a finishing note. The kind man that helped me was English and didn't want anything in return.

I have managed to secure someone who will translate for me when I make an appointment at the Guardia Civil for a statement.

The bad experience has not prevented me from wanting to live in Spain. The Spanish people have all been very pleasant. I am sure by the look of the man, the thief was not Spanish.Ican not believe I mad myself so vulnerable

Yes all settled now. Although I wouldn't trust the guardia civil as far as I could see them. Or the Spanish authority for that matter.

Things are being sorted. 

I have to say that the Guardia Civil man who dealt with the matter was helpful.

The robbery aside, I have found people very pleasant. My experience has not put me off wanting to settle here. I am presently looking for a modest property, after which I shall be taking much needed Spanish and Computer classes.

When my passport was stolen the Guardia gave me papers to get me out of Spain , but didnt help with the British Passport control, they stood me aside and called the Police, luckily for me, the policeman who came came lived near me and recognised me!     Lucky eh !
