We are looking to retire in Oliva next year and are currently researching the best location. We have a dog, would like a villa with a pool. We want to be part of the community, walking distance to amenities (even if 15-25 mins). Do many villas come up for sale? Any recommendations of areas within Oliva that we should check out? We are here till Friday.

Your best suggestion may be to look on one of the Spanish property websites. Kyero is a good portal and can be parsed down easily to your requirements. It will return lots of stuff you don’t want, but it will certainly give you a good idea of what is available and costs etc. Property here is usually listed with several agencies, so you may see the same place several times.

I presume you are aware of the requirements now for moving toSpain permanently, Post Brexit.

It may help you if you have a look at a couple of sites:

Citizens Advise Bureau Spain for bureaucratic stuff, and

N332 for anything to do with driving in Spain.

Most dwellings that you have described will be either on Tossal Gros (aka Tosser Mountain) which is not a walk to town (I take it that this is what you meant when you said "part of the community"), or the beach area. The beach is within a walk to town but can be very quiet in winter, that is you might be the only occupants for 50 metres plus either side. 

Other than these two areas some dwellings will meet your requirements. Have you spoken to, or looked at any agents, if so which ones?
