Following advice from fellow Oliva Forum members I made an appointment and visited the Town Hall armed with every piece of personal documentation I thought necessary - WRONG!!!

All you need are a Passport,Contract if you are renting and a Council Tax bill from your Landlord.

Hope this helps - still worthwhile taking everything else just in case.

Eric.

Thanks Eric

However, it's always wise to take more documents than you may actually need as you could be asked for something you don't have with you...

We’re in Alicante city and were also asked for proof of identity of the owner of our apartment and proof that our agency had the right to rent it out to us. Both of which were provided easily by our agent and our Padron’s received soon after.

Hi Eric,

I had to provide passport, house deeds and a utility bill, but requirements do vary from one Town Hall to another, so always wise to be armed with everything you can fit in the kitchen sink!

Kind regards,

Kim
