Advice about Orba living

Hello all expats in Orba. I have lived in Costa Blanca area but it was over 20 years ago. We are retired now in our sixties and pre Brexit I always thought we may retire to Spain. So many things to consider now. I realise it's important not to hope to be included automatically in Spain's health system after Brexit. I have read an article that you may have to have lived in Spain for the last few years for that. Nothing is certain about that till Brexit happens. So you have to be prepared for the worst. I no longer wish to live on coast but Orba is not too far from Denia near where I used to live. I feel I would like to live in Orba town itself walking easy distance to small supermarkets cafes etc. Sadly what little Spanish I used to know is lost but would try to learn again. Don't really want to have to drive. Will have 3x cats plus small dog so that's another concern. Would really love to hear from anyone about living in Spanish townhouse or any friendly advice about Orba and that area. It is such a big decision to make I would like to hear how other Bits are finding life there. Now living in UK.

Hi, Jackie. We are looking to buy in the Orba Valley, and possibly an old townhouse. It is best to join the various groups on Facebook, as they are more active and you will get plenty of advice/new friends!

Anywhere in the Orba Valley is not far from Denia/Ondara etc - and there is a bus service. Have you visited the area yet? I would recommend a week or more there, arrange to meet up with residents via Facebook and just have a good walk around/chat with the locals. There are excellent vets in Orba. View some properties in your budget.

I am sure you will fall in love with the area - we have been to Northern Costa Blanca 3 times since October (and viewed properties in lots of different areas). We are going back in September and hope to have purchased a property by the end of the year.

Thank you Ali. Good to know from someone who has looked into the town. I shall join the Orba Facebook and get info from there. I have thought about going to area this year but there doesn't seem to be any holiday lets in the town of Orba. Well I hope all goes very well for you and thanks again for your reply.
