Hello

A common fault apparently is the string broke on our patio table umbrella. Looks like an easyish fix according to YouTube but my big problem is that it does not have a pulley anywhere on it? My wife pulled the string out and doesn't no where it came from and there's no way I can see for it to get back into the shafts and down to the crank mechanism? Anyone have any advice please.

Regards

It's a straightforward umbrella that fits through the middle of our round patio table. I just cannot see how the draw string gets into the shafts to go down it and attach to the crank. On videos they all have a pulley at the top with a hole that the string goes down?

Some times the pulley roller is in the very top under a cap. Do you know what make it is?

Just had a look, the top screws off and I can see all the way down the shafts to the crank and there is no pulley at all? There are none on the outside either?

Just a bit of plastic that screws off. Nothing to it at all.

Right can you see any holes in the tube where the rope would have come out. Can you see where the rope was tied onto the umbrella slide. What are the two clips at the top of the tube?

Hi, had a look today and worked out what happens. There are 2 strings go from the bottom hub to the top hub, where they go through 2 string size holes into the top hub assembly. In here are supposed to be 2 plastic pulleys that they go around and then I assume they both go down the shaft to the crank mechanism and tie on. My problem is now that there is only one pulley(the other is just not there?). So it looks like it has been modified before as it was only using one pulley, probably the reason why it snapped. Haven't a clue as to make and parts, so think it's gonna be a case of drilling a hole for a pin and just pushing it up manually and putting pin in?
