Hi, does anyone know a tradesman to install a gas hob (using bottled gas). We currently have an induction hob and feel we have very high electric bills because of it. When the job is finished we would like a certificate that everything is ok. Can anyone help?

We had a new butane hob fitted. We bought it from Flere Expert in Pilar. They organised a gas fitter, and arranged for CEPSA to inspect it/issue the safety certificate.

Whilst the conversion is not a difficult job, I would always recommend you get a certified installer for the gas part.

Make sure whoever you get to install the gas hob has their gas certification and they should be able to show you this.

I know it is only a gas bottle, regulator, rubber pipe and a jubilee clip... but I like to be able to sleep at night!

Hope it helps

Whilst not disputing your findings - I feel it may make a negligible difference. I worked at one time at the ‘designer/expensive’ end of the UK kitchen industry, and induction hobs are known for their economy and efficiency - much more so than the standard cheaper type of ‘ceramic’ hob. As with all appliances, much depends upon the quality of the product. We are out in the campo and only have electricity for everything- heat exchangers for water etc - and all electric kitchen and usual appliances - dishwasher etc. Our bills are not cheap-cheap, but certainly not expensive and in reality, having spoken to friends in the area who do have gas installed, the difference in bills is really not much, given the fact that we all do the same kinds of things. Whether you feel it’s worthwhile is of course up to you, but changing one appliance may not achieve the overall savings you hope.

Give Klimat a call, 966 398 384. Highly recommend them. Really good customer service.
