I have S1 from Newcastle and have an appointment for residencia at the end of October.  I am over 65 years old and receive state pension.

I have been twice to the INSS office in Torrevieja but the man on reception just gave me two phone numbers to ring to make appointment.  I told him my Spanish is not good enough on the phone and he just shrugged his shoulders.  I phoned the numbers and  just had recorded messages I could not understand.

Am I correct in thinking that I need to get residencia first before I can register the S1?

The problem is I need to see a doctor now and have tests and probably an operation.  I went through AECC and was seen at IMED, there is something wrong and it needs further investigation.  What can I do?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you Ray.  I have been twice to INSS but the guy on reception would not help, just shrugged his shoulders and said I got to phone.  Suppose I need a Spanish speaker to telephone.

My husband had just arrived in Spain when he took a heart attack, we were staying on an Urbanizatión and the security phoned ambulance , he was taken to  local hospital and given a stent , all done on EHIC card, perhaps you should take yourself to hos

Hi Jan

Hope your husband I ok now.  In your case it was an emergency and they had to act.  I need further tests and probably an hysterectomy.

I went to Medical Centre, got temporary sip card from very nice receptionist.  Saw very uncaring doctor, she said I am not on the system and she can’t send me to hospital.  Then she prescribed Omeprazole, which I am already taking.

I now have appointment

I now have appointment to register at INSS.

Thanks, he’s a 100% now.

Hope all goes well for you too,

Jan
