We have a house in Los Altos, we are very new to the area, but would love recommendations for a good Spanish bar/restaurant serving good Tapas, in the Los Altos or Punta Prima area.

Many thanks

Be adventurous! Tapas are available in most Spanish bars, frequently in chilled trays under glass on the bar itself, you simply ask for what you fancy. A tapa is a small dish of whatever, many places offer a ‘racion’ also, which is a person sized serving.

Some bars have chalk boards of the list of tapas, which you may read before heading to a table, although they will sometimes haul it over to you. Places trying to be fancier sometimes have a printed tapas menu.

Just be careful, it’s very easy to order far too much, as we did the other day, and should have known better! Spain works on the premise that you are very, very hungry! Ordering patatas bravas normally results in enough to feed you for a week! You could start with a couple of things, the beauty of it is that you can order more if you feel like it

One of our favourite bars is mainly frequented by lorry drivers and local workmen, the tapas selection runs half the length of the bar!

Thank you, I love Tapas. But I don't know anywhere near us to get good Tapas. Could you please give me the names of bars please.

So sorry but I am not in your area! And definitions of good can vary wildly. The staples available in many bars may not be to everyone s. liking. I would honestly suggest you walk down the street and choose a bar, you can always go somewhere else!

Milk and Honey in the Citrus Centre in Playa Flamenca-the best in the area-was there today and ordered six tapas for 3 very hungry people and couldn’t finish them.

It does get busy and won’t take bookings as it’s so popular but we went at 4pm-quiet and covered us for lunch and dinner tonight!
