Hello, could someone please point me in the direction of how I get an N.I.E sorted out.  Is it easy to do myself.  I want to buy a property but understand you need an N.I.E. to purchase.  I should be grateful for any help I can get regarding this please.  Many thanks Vanessa

Hello, yes it is quite simple to do yourself and a quite straight forward procedure.

You can download the EX-15 form and fill in TWO copies, :

http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Embajadas/PRAGA/Documents/Formulario%20EX-15.pdf

Make an appointment at your nearest national police station (if Benidorm, c/ Apolo XI nº 36)

https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpplus/citar?accion=ac_info&i=es&org=AGE&p=3&t=4031&sbt=&nsbt=&dsbt=

To pay the fee you can do with the 790 payment form online:

https://sede.policia.gob.es:38089/Tasa790_012/formularioNew.jsp

Other documents required:

  • All applicants: An original document (plus a photocopy) that justifies your reason for applying for an NIE number, such as a private purchase contract for a property, deposit contract, or a mortgage approval.
  • EU nationals: Your passport and a photocopy of the main page of your passport (the page that includes your photo, name, passport number, address, etc.).
Hope this helps. Saludos
