Strange bird behaviour. Any ornithologists out there?

Any bird lovers out there? Can anyone explain the strange behaviour of a blackbird in our garden? He's been visiting our garden for some years but suddenly he is tapping on most of the windows of our summer house. They are mirrored windows and I guessed he sees his own reflection and thinks it's a rival! But yesterday he was tapping on the dining room window which is not reflective and flapping his wings , crushing my plants as he rises in the air and then falls back down. What does he want? Anyone know?
