There is no alternative in Rojales, even in the daytime medical center in Lo Maribu the doctors have very little English. Most expats take a translator with them. My doctor and I get along with Spanglish quite well.

The NHS in Spain is outstanding!

When we were there last week we took some pretranslated wuestions and statements with us and that helped a lot a we managed to organise temporary SIP's and correct prescriptions

There was one doctor there and he seemed to speak reasonable English and one of the guys on reception is good too

Must admit the consultation was gratis and the medication costs negligible.

UK internationa pensions are sending S1 forms so all will be good soon

It is up to the individual to speak the language of the country or take an interpreter. Can you imagine a health centre in England with Spanish speaking staff?

If you can't type English, no idea why you want to demand an English speaking Doctor!  Congrats to Superchulo for saying it straight!

Hi, if you’d bothered to see the date in the post you’d have noticed it’s 4 years old and was a few weeks after arriving

Since then I’ve taken lessons and now speak fluent Spanish

So, adios amigo

I have downloaded a translation app, where your text / so each in English translates into Spanish or any language. Hope this is helpful.

As I said to spanishian, my original post was 4 years ago, not long after arriving in Spain. A lot has happened since as I said

Thanks for your response though, nice and polite, unlike the condescending, ill informed one posted by spanishian
