If you only have one source of income and it is below a certain amount (I think 22,000 euro a year but frequently changes) then you do not have to submit an annual tax return unless something changes.

If your property is your main home and you have been living there over 3 years and are over 65 years of age then there will be no Capital Gains Tax to pay.

What a lovely, friendly reply. Misinformed as well as rude.

FYI read the following from people who really know

"As you might already know, the Tax Administration Agency doesn’t require everyone to submit a tax declaration. It will depend on your annual income level, as well as where the income comes from. There are limits associated with your work-related income, investment income, capital gains, and other

"So, who is exempt from a tax declaration under this subsection?

  • People with gross annual earnings below €22,000 (from one source)
  • People with gross annual earnings below €14,000 (from multiple sources)
  • People with gross annual earnings below €22,000 (from multiple sources), as long as the total of the amount obtained from the second and further sources (if these exist) doesn’t exceed €1,500 annually."
Maybe you should take your rather rude and misinformed reply back.
Oh, and if you are still in doubt of how wrong you are, read the actual advice from Agencia Tributaria on this page Obligations

Anyone who is a resident of Spain must submit a annual tax return no matter what your income is Im rude but I think you are a bit stupid if you think that you get away without putting in a annual tax return.

So you didn't even bother reading the rules from the tax agency then. Well done. You submit an initial tax return as this lady has done. After that, if your income does not exceed 22,000 euro from one source or more than 14,000 from multiple sources then you no longer need to submit an annual tax return.

That's exactly what the Agencia Tributaria says but if you can't be bothered to read it then just keep on with your misinformed and rude comments.

Querido Senor,

Muy Buenas Tardes. Perdon si responde en El Ingles.

A knowledgeable citizen of foreign extraction has labelled your advice on those who are obligated to make an annual income tax return in Spain as "ka ka" or, as he so delightfully puts it, crap.

Now, I know that he is far more of an expert on Spanish tax regulations than you, who actually formulate the regulations, are. Therefore could you please remove the advice you have given on the page that I linked to him as he is obviously right and you are obviously wrong.

I would be grateful if you could not post such obvious, in his eyes, falsehoods about the regulations you have drafted and published. This will allow him to visit his local pub and tell all his buddies that he knows more than you.

I also apologise for the lack of income tax returns made by my wife over the last five years on advice from our financial advisor. I realise she only has an income with her pension and bank interest of less than 14,000 euro and has been informed by this knowledgeable citizen that the advice given by our financial advisor is wrong based on the information you have given. I can assure you she will wear a hair shirt to atone and complete tax returns for the last 5 years as both our financial advisor and you are wrong. We will now take all our advice on tax matters from an anonymous internet expert who is by far more "en razon" with regulations than you are.

I, of course, will continue with my annual tax returns as I am not on the list of those you have falsely claimed to be exempt from annual tax returns.

Saludos cordiales

Senor Marcliff. (Nuevamente incorrecto y educado por el hombre referido)
