Hi Lorraine

As long as you have a license then a really good option is www.Spain-holiday.com as the owner and renter deal direct.  There is an Irish site that is quite good too for the same reason but not many properties in our area holidayhomesdirect.ie

Homeaway.co.uk do a free listing (pay per booking) and although they handle the payments they are very prompt with payment to the owner and allow direct contact quickly between owner and renter.  You don't have to use their instant booking facility if you don't want to do so, which gives you more control.  Obviously their pre-paid yearly advertising gives better exposure than the free listing.

Holidaylettings is owned by tripadvisor and although you can use either free or paid for listings they will limit contact between owner and renter to going through their site only and they hang onto the payments until after the renter has arrived - also add on high booking fees.

Other sites that tend to do the same as holiday lettings regarding limiting contact prior to accepting the booking are the big bully boys of the accommodation industry air bnb and booking .com - they want you to just accept anything that comes along and will hold onto funds (and they aren't cheap to advertise on either) and charge high booking fees.  I personally wont touch either.

This forum has it's own site propertyandvillasinspain.com

Also worth looking at is EyeonSpain.com

I haven't looked at it but I know A Place in the Sun also have holiday lets on their site.

However, as RayD said, if you do not have a tourist license then you cannot legally let out your property and can be fined for advertising it, (even on your own private facebook page).

I hope that's helpful.

Bev
